Synopsis

Ty is a unusual boy. He had a very difficult upbringing and now lives with his foster parents. In school, not everything is going as planned, and he’s having a lot of difficulties with his self-control and confidence.

Dan is his foster brother. He was also a trouble maker in his school years, but found his peace now, in nature. Now Dan guides groups in the wilderness and teaches them bushcraft skills. When he learns of Ty’s recent problems, he decides to take his young brother with him to the snowy mountains of Scotland for a week-long bushcraft trip. There, in order to try to teach him about life, he subjects Ty to the harsh conditions of the northern wildlands, and introduces him to a specific skillset that will guide his mind from the problems at home, to the concrete tasks at hand.

In this documentary we follow the two brothers and witness their developing relationship. Nature has a way of getting to the core of people. How will Ty emerge?
